Tattoo Aftercare
Hand Hygiene: Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your new tattoo.

bandage

1. Remove the bandage after 1-2 hours in a clean bathroom

  • Bandage Removal: Remove the bandage within 1 hour of receiving your tattoo. Do not re-bandage.

  • Cleaning: Gently wash the tattoo with a liquid antibacterial soap, such as Samurai Wash by Urban’s Edge or Dial Gold hand soap. Use only your hands—avoid washcloths or sponges to prevent exfoliation.

  • Use warm water to rinse the soap clean

  • Drying: Pat the area dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not rub or use rough fabrics.

  • Swelling Reduction: To minimize swelling, consider taking an anti-inflammatory or applying a clean, cold compress.

2. After washing your tattoo

  • Keep your tattoo moisturized, not wet. Your skin should feel hydrated—not greasy or sticky.

  • We recommend Snipe by Urban’s Edge for aftercare, but other reputable products can also be used.

  • Apply a very thin layer of your chosen product over the tattoo—just enough to lightly coat the skin.

  • This helps prevent dryness, cracking, and infection during the healing process.

  • Avoid over-applying, as too much moisture can hinder healing or clog pores.

3. The first three days

*During the first three days after your tattoo appointment, it is not uncommon to experience some weeping from the tattoo. This is completely normal.*

  • Ointment Application: Apply a thin layer of ointment, we recommend Snipe by Urban’s Edge, a natural vegan tattoo balm.

  • Frequency: Cleanse, dry, and reapply ointment 3 to 5 times daily, or as needed to keep the area moisturized but not overly saturated.

  • Avoid: Do not use Vaseline, petroleum-based products, or Neosporin.

4.Day 4 and Onward (Until Fully Healed)

  • Continue washing tattoo as instructed.

  • Healing Process: Expect your tattoo to scab and peel—this is normal. Do not pick at it.

  • Moisturizing: Transition to a mild, unscented, white lotion free of dyes and perfumes. Continue application until your skin returns to its normal texture. Snipe can be used throughout the entire healing process if preferred.
